About the Moses-Schlachter Group

Dick Moses and Tom Schlachter have formed a business partnership that has kept them working together since 1977. Their names are synonymous with some of the most successful development projects in the Toledo area. The partners have created St. James Wood, Hidden Harbour, Hidden Meadows, Hidden Springs, Village Meadows, Brookestone Village and The Villages at Forest Lakes, to name a few.

   Their firm, The Moses-Schlachter Group, Inc. received the Home Builders Association 1999 Developer of the Year for Waterford Village at Forest Lakes. The Forest Lakes undertaking includes five separate and distinct subdivisions all integrated into one master plan on 250 acres of heavily wooded land in southwestern Sylvania Township. Homes in Forest Lakes range in price from $250,000 to over $1.0 million.

   The partnership has separately or collectively developed over 3,100 single-family lots in Northwest Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee and Florida, since 1977 and played host to five issues of Parades of Homes.

   “Our partnership has lasted so long because we have complementary talents,” said Moses, a past-president of the Ohio Home Builders Association. “Tom likes to handle the inside work, while I enjoy the day-to-day marketing interaction with our customers.”

   “Driving though a project years later is the most enjoyable thing,” said Schlachter. “People have no idea who you are, but it’s nice knowing that you were instrumental in developing the neighborhood where they live. When you see people enjoying their homes and their yards, it makes it all worth while.”
